Top 20 Articles of 2024

CalendarIt took some finagling on the back end of my website, but by the end of January 2024, I had a way to roughly track post views again, two ways to be exact. So we’ll take a look at two different perspectives of how many people visited my site for various topics of interest over the past 11 months. We’ll begin with the metrics that have the larger numbers. When you tell a counter to only count visitors, sometimes those visitors can be search engine or directory bots. These were being counted so badly by the second system, that I had to see if the admin side could block the bots. Now that second system is a bit harsher on the numbers.

It always fascinates me what content rises to the top over the course of a year. For whatever reason, my article comparing Arrowleaf Balsamroot’s terpene content to that of cannabis was the top article for both counters. As far as my household is concerned, the discovery that Arrowleaf Balsamroot contains all the helpful terpenes that don’t contain or boost THC in cannabis, while NOT having all the terpenes that contain or boost THC, means you can get the benefits of cannabis without the potential high or side effects of the THC! This also tells us that people like the euphoric effect of cannabis and use the medicinal impacts as justification to get it when they could rightfully use another herb that doesn’t have the issues THC puts on the body.

It was good to see attention paid to some of the warnings I’ve tried to get out there, though I’m baffled why the henipa discussion seemed to get more views on the timeline article than on the mitigation article. Still, with what they want to do around bird flu, the mitigation article still holds weight and I was pleased to see that article visited the evening of January 1st.

How I introduce my services as Biblical Natural Health Coach got the attention of 78 visitors over the course of the year. This is good! When you aren’t on the big 5 social platforms, getting your name out there online is more of a challenge.

When one of the platforms I’m on threatened to charge for media storage, I began posting foraging articles to my blog, and those have been getting a decent number of views over the course of 2024. These articles give a glimpse into what we forage for and occasionally why we forage for it as well as forays into preparing what we forage.

I now have people asking for advanced foraging workshops, which are in the very early planning phases. Feedback on that list would be very helpful at this stage.

The remainder of the list was various subjects related to using food as medicine for various issues facing the general public. Some of those issues are string puller caused, others are big pharma caused ( I might be repeating myself there), but the powerhouses of nutrition and medicine that God has placed within our grasp is incredible to uncover, particularly as ongoing modern-day research continues to verify and explain why various herbs were used for the same reasons in centuries past.

Here is the first TOP 20 view of the past year’s visitors to my coaching blog:

The above list still had the psychotropic article as the most viewed all year, but the mRNA warning was further down the list while gut health was closer to the top. This version of the list puts interest in my coaching down around 15 visitors all year and puts more focus on the foraging articles.

While 352 visitors did not have country identification (which is fine as more people tell their browsers to send ‘do not track’ codes), the top 20 countries listed read like this for 2024:

Someone in France spent a fair bit of time on my site!

Referrers, or where people found me to come visit, is of interest to me, because it lets me know either where I am sharing that brings in the traffic, where others are sharing, or the search engines where I showed up. Only a total of 18 referrers ended up in 2024’s total list, after concatenating the various subdomains and country divisions for things such as facebook, google, and yahoo.

It appears that the Canadian social media platform, Librti, gave me more traffic than Gab, which I found surprising given that Gab’s user base is larger and has more groups with targeted members that I share to. For all of Google’s censoring, apparently people are finding me over there and I’m not even doing google-directed SEO. Getting 5 visits from FB over the course of the year means someone somewhere is sharing my stuff there. On one hand, cool, on the other, shudder. . . 5 visits from Baidu is interesting as well. Baidu is a China-based social platform. People finding me on DuckDuckGo and yahoo is nice, but Bing only showing up once, no skin off my nose. Bing is a Microsoft property! I’m pretty sure the wordpress.org hit was from a developer I’d contacted to help with something earlier in the year.

So my 2024 list of referrers looks like the table to the right;

What’s nice to see, is that the Vernon Wellness Fair’s website sent 17 people to check me out! This is great news, because it shows that attending that fair is bringing eyeballs to what I’m doing and what I’m offering in my larger local region. Add in the castanet numbers, our local online newspaper, and 25 people found me on local media. Very cool!

Here’s looking to continue getting word out in 2025 that Biblical Natural Health Coaching is a thing and available not merely where I live, but wherever English speakers have Internet access as well.

To those of you who have been sharing my blog articles and newsletters, I want to say a BIG thank you! My numbers are very small compared to the numbers you’re taught to expect when marketing your services online. But this is encouraging nonetheless.

If there are topics or services you hope to see me cover or offer in the coming year, do drop me a line and share, either where you see this article on social media or directly to my inbox at bnhc@naturalhealthgodsway.ca
