Herbs for You and Your Critter

So herbs can help me.  Can they help my animal???

Yes, yes they can!

Before the age of manmade medication, ALL medicine came from natural sources for both man and beast.  If you’re looking for what grows around your area that may be of use to you and your critter, let’s explore that together.

In our house, we have a cat and a horse, and previously had gerbils as well.  My nutritional/’medicinal database has been receiving edits to note safe herbs for cats, dogs and horses, and we can attest first hand to a cancer remedy for gerbils.  With the diploma for Herbalism for Animals, these database notes are expanding.

Do note:  Marilynn is NOT a veterinarian!  A natural health practitioner is not allowed in the province of BC, to make diagnoses or claims of cure or make prescriptions.  However, assessments, observations, concerns, and recommendations can be offered with how to use herbs safely.  If a holistic or herbal veterinarian is available in your area, they can give diagnoses that we can then pair herbs with for the benefit of your critter.

Many herbs are safe for many critters, but not all herbs are safe for various species.  While various veterinarians disagree as to which herbs are and aren’t safe, where possible, recommendations from Biblical Natural Health Coaching will be researched for safety for your critter, in combination with observations you have made about their eating and nibble habits.  For example, corn is generally not recommended for cats to eat, but we had a cat whose gut broke it down so well that we never saw evidence of the corn in his stools and he never tossed them back up either, except in cases where he didn’t chew!  Conversely, cornsilk may be of benefit to your cat.
